How to simplify the process of organising the logistics of travelling abroad for your fertility testing and or treatment abroad run more smoothly?

If you're trying to conceive and on the path to parenthood and considering, planning or about to have IVF treatment abroad, you're in the right place.

I'm Emma Haslam, and since the birth of my son in 2018, I have made it my mission to make fertility treatment more transparent, accessible, supported and affordable. I now help people around the world just like you to find a safe, best fit clinic and navigate fertility treatment in Europe. And since 2019 I have helped 100s around the world, just like you, to have fertility treatment in Europe and achieve their dreams of starting or expanding their families.

8 Tips to help you organize your fertility testing and or treatment abroad

  1. Plan Ahead: The key to avoiding last-minute panic? Preparation. Get as much as you can organised well in advance, so you can travel with peace of mind. If you can, try and quieten down your schedule, give yourself the time and space that you need prior to your fertility treatment like IVF abroad, IUI or egg donation in Europe.

  2. Know where to go locally if needed whether you live in the UK, America or somewhere else if this is part of your protocol and treatment plan, for example arranging fertility ultrasound scans, semen analyses and blood work, or you can of course make arrangements to have these done at the IVF clinic you have chosen and if you are going long haul, for example America to Spain for your fertility treatment then it makes more sense to have all of your treatment locally at the clinic you have chosen abroad.

  3. Get your fertility medication in plenty of time so that there are no panics around getting it in time to start taking it. If you need help to get a free no obligation quote for your fertility medication and supplements via an introduction to a specialist pharmacy please visit this link free online pharmacy service where you can find out more details and then if suitable get in tough with the pharmacist directly via email attaching your prescriptions and within 48-72 working hours you will have a no obligation quote. The pharmacist can ship to most places globally too, including the UK and USA! Prices for medication are competitive, especially for Lubion/Prolutex and Meriofert, even including shipping and the pharmacy can use a prescription for fertility medication and supplements from most places in the world without you having to get this converted, as long as it is written in English. This pharmacist has also had IVF himself, so totally gets it!

  4. Make sure you have budgeted for your fertility treatment and have understood exactly what is and is not included in your treatment and any extras that may need to be considered. Also understand from the clinic how and when things need to be paid for.

  5. Self-Care: This journey can be challenging and emotionally taxing, so don't forget to take care of yourself. Prioritise relaxation and find ways to manage any travel-related stress, let those around you help too. Maybe try journaling and check out my planner and journal for somewhere to document your thoughts and feelings, as well as much more.

  6. Flexibility is Key: Things don't always go as planned, especially when it comes to fertility treatment and when you're travelling. Stay flexible and roll with the small things - it'll make the journey a whole lot easier.

  7. If you are unsure about anything make sure that you ask your Coordinator contact that clinic or your Fertility Doctor for their help and don’t be afraid to ask more questions if things aren’t clear and if you don’t understand something.

  8. Have and Lean on Your Support System: Ask for help if you need it. Whether it's from friends, family, or online communities, don't hesitate to reach out for support. You do not need to do this  alone. Or get some professional support from someone who has been there, like me! Book a 30 minute Pick My Brain video call and I can help you feel cool, calm and collected around the logistics of planning to have fertility treatment in places like Spain, Greece and Czech Republic in Europe and help to answer your questions if you are feeling confused, stuck or overwhelmed.
